What if an app is not profitable anymore

If the maintenance/updating of an app is not profitable anymore, what should be done?

There are non-consumable IAP's on it and there are problems with iOS compatibility.

Would we make IAP's not available for sale anymore and leave it in the store?

We kind of have to leave it in store cause otherwise users could not restore anymore - however, maybe users will not be able to restore anymore in the future in case any incompatibility comes up with the release of some new iOS version, or device or something. We can not do compatibility updates cause sales are not covering those update costs.

For sure this happened before - how is the apple way of doing this?

Remove the app and the IAPs from sale. No new purchasers. Previous purchasers can restore app and/or IAPs and, if possible, use it with ever increasing bugs.
