in-app-purchase to request songs

Hi,

I am creating an app around an event that will take place in december to raise money for a good cause. The event consists of making radio outdoors, non-stop for 72 hours. People can request songs by sending a text to a special number which costs €1. Every penny we make will go to a good cause.

I had the idea to create an app where an up-to-date blog would appear and people could listen to a livestream.

Now I would like to add the possibility to request a song with the app. After filling in the form, the user would have to make an in-app-purchase of €1 and when succesfull, the request would be sent to a database so we can play the song on the radio.

I fear that this will be rejected by Apple because the item or service sold is not a consumable or paid service for the app. Before I go any further with my development, will this be rejected?

Thanks in advance!

I would think it will be rejected if you make the purchase through IAP because it is a 'service used outside of the App' (Guideline 11.3). However, if the radio stream only went through the App then it might be ok. But in this case, to be consistent with 21.2 the user is making a NON-tax-deductible purchase from you and Apple, not contributing tax-deductible to the charitable organization. You can then contribute your 70% to the charity.

You can direct the user to your website where they can make a contribution/selection as per Guideline 21.1 and 21.2.

All - IMHO
