Why iPad only app not shown in appstore search in iPhone

Hi,

Here I'm asking a very basik question. Reason why I'm asking this is due to a question raised by one of our client. We have developed and publish an iPad only app in the Appstore for them. When he searched the app in the iPad by typing the app name worked fine. But when he search the app in appstore app in his iphone there wasn't any results. I hope that is how Apple has designed it since the app is supported only iPad. But you know there is a web link to each app in the https://itunes.apple.com/ site. So our client has hit that link in his iphone. That has open up with the appstore app and showed a message saying "<appname> is only available on iPad. You can download <appname> for your iPad in the Appstore". So my client is saying Although, this is an iPad app only, the search on An iPhone within the AppStore should link same result when he click the web link. So now I need a proof to say that iPad apps are not shown in the iphone's appstore app since apple has designed it that way. Does any one can find a place where apple has state that this is the default behaviour? Can any one verify this process

To be kind, your client is a fool. The app store is designed to display apps for the platform

the store is being viewed on. There is no point in showing an iPad only app to an iPhone

user. As for proof, all one needs is eyes and to use each device. Apple does not make

any public statement saying, hey, this will only show up on this device. Only a fool would

expect an iPad only app to show up on an iPhone.

Edited to clarify: Since an iPad only app cannot run on an iPhone, it would be pointless to

display such apps to those using an iPhone.
