Waiting for Review for 5 days despite Expedited request approval

I have been developing for Apple iOS for 6 years and it has never been so frustrating as it is now, and the review process has continued its decline in terms of quality & time year after year. My app was approved for Expedited Review on Oct 21, it came to In Review same day and was meta data rejected. I immediately changed meta data and since then till now it is waiting for review. It was supposed to be in Expedited queue after resubmission but for 5 straight days it is waiting for review. Numerous emails sent have remained unanswered. Even the reason for Metadata rejection is not genuine, but that is a different story.

Has it ever happened that the app remains in Waiting for review status despite expedited approval ? Not a single email is answered so far.

Called 'em up yet?

I read somewhere (I wish I could find the blog for you...) that if your build is in expedited review, and you resubmit a build after a MetaData rejection, you MUST NOT CLICK SUBMIT FOR REVIEW! Instead, you are expected to reply to the reviewer via the Resolution Center message thread and the reviewer will take the app back into review status. This blog claimed that if you click the button, your app ends up back in a regular review queue (which these days averages 6 to 8 days), AND I know from my own experience that once you click Submit for Review, the resolution center thread CLOSES! No more replies allowed. >:-(

I made this mistake and then after googling and finding that blog post about this, I emailed them to let them know that i had re-submitted. I don't know if this had any effect, but my app did go back into review this morning. (My resubmission was last night).

My app update has been "In Review" for 12 days now. I wrote to Apple and response was that it happens 🙂. I guess there might be a connection to tvOS apps submission starting today so all reviewers can be busy with that 🙂.

My app has been "In Review" for 5days now, may you tell me how to solve this problem? thank you very much.

5 days is average. Your app may have something that takes a bit longer. I know it's tough to wait, but best to just be patient.

I think some developers abuse the Expedited Review mechanism. It's intended purpose was for emergency bug fixes for serious problems with apps already on the app store, but some developers don't plan their releases far enough in advance of some event tied to their app (or they simply don't like to wait). So the Expedited Review queue gets flooded, making it less effective.
