I changed the icon design for the iOS and watchOS app. I updated all icons in the Assets.xcassets files.
The new icon is appears correctly anywhere, except in the iOS app "Watch". There, the old icon is still displayed.
I've tried everything. Delete the app on both devices. Reset the watch and pair the watch again with my iPhone.
I'm trying to solve this problem for hours now.
I'm using xcode 7.1.1, and all the images are correct for app icon, the correct app icon is being shown in both iPhone and iWacth, but tthe problem is that app icon is not being shown under My Watch in iPhone simulator as well as in device.
When I updated a phone to ios 9.2, the iphone watch app icon for an app I am working on updated... Not sure it's fixed, but that's an improvement.
I was able to update the iphone watch icon again today. After installing the iphone app with XCode, I uninstalled the watch app from the iphone watch app, re-installed it, then after killing the iphone watch app and restarting, the new icon was visible. Still a little buggy, but at least it updated.
watchOS 2.1 changelog says:
Fixes an issue that could prevent third-party app icons from displaying correctly
Maybe it refers to this bug...
Do your Watch icons have an alpha channel? They need to be saved without an Alpha.
