Unable to submit an archive due to missing Home screen icon

Good afternoon,

We are no longer able to upload an archive to iTunes Connect after upgrading our app from watchkit to watchkit 2. We are getting an error that the home screen icon for 42mm is missing. However we are not able to specify 2 home screen icons in the assets catalogue.

The error being returned is 'Error ITMS-90394: "Missing Icon. The watch application "...' is missing icon with pattern "*44x44@2x.png' (Home screen 42mm). Please visit ... for more information. Below are screenshots of the Asset Catalog and the error that is being returned

As a hack, I've tried to edit the Contents.json file directly to add a second icon but that hasn't helped.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have found the solution for me. After select the watchOS 1.0 checkmark i was able to add the icon in the "Apple Watch Long Look" slot, which appears only then.

My target buiild is also for watchOS 2.0, so this should not be needed, right. But anyway, now it works.

Seems to be a inconsistency between XCode 7.1 and iTunes Connect.

Don't take 'missing' literally. It can simply mean that it's there, but not found.

Is it named correctly, without juggling names post add? Does it have an alpha channel (trick question, so just a yes or no will do)?

I have exactly the same problem. And in my case it's a new project created with XCode 7.1. Its visible that there is no slot in XCode, but as you hav ealso done, manual entry of the "appLauncher" icon with the the correct naming has not helped.

I hope i find out soon, it's also the only thing blocks me from release...

Exactly the same problem for me. There´s no 44pt (42mm) slots in the assets catalog for the Home screen icon which does not allow me to upload my watchapp!

Found a workaround for me:

Deleted all entries in assets.xcassets.

Editor/AddAssets/AppIcons&LaunchImages/NewWatchOsAppIcon

Assigned all (8) images

Done!

So obviously starting from scratch helps...
