Hello,

Does any of you knows if it is possible to establish a communication between a bluesmirf RN-42 module and an Ipad?

If it is possible, then is it possible to be a SPP communication?

SPP is not supported via low energy. Only gatt operations are supported in CoreBluetooth.

A few years ago in college I wanted to do just this. The only way would be to use an MFI chip and go through external accessory framework. I don't believe the RN42 module is MFI, I'll be that it isn't.

If you don't have extensive bandwidth limitations you could try to use Nordic's UART service which is not officially adopted yet. Adafruit has a couple of BLE modules that demonstrate this pretty well (although their firmware code isn't open source).
