I am creating an iOS application in which user already has reward points. Using reward points user can buy movie etc. For eg: User need 5000 points in order to qualify for movie "ABC". Reward points are attached to the user's account & user can see it on his account details page. (There is API to get reward points) So, there is no money transaction throughout the application, that is, there is no in-app purchase. Ask here is : Is there any chance of rejection by Apple?
Apple guidelines for rewards program in app
Your scheme seems to be a violation of 11.1 if the reward points can be obtained any way other than through the normal use of your game. Fot example, if a user can get points by sending you a check in the mail or by purchasing a premium account on your website then that's a violation. However if getting to level 4 in your app gives the user 100 points that is ok.
11.1 Apps that unlock or enable additional features or functionality with mechanisms other than the App Store will be rejected
Thanks PBK. Your response is very clear and crisp.
It would be nice if Apple had a points rewards program similar to the one google has so we can get points and turn them into credits we can use to buy packs at any app we choose to.
