Mac App Store not working

I am not a developer - this was a public beta - but Apple removed my question from the usual forum and said I had to post it in the developer forum.

I have 6 updates waiting in the Mac App Store on my MacBook Air. The site never fully loads, ie if I go to Featured, I can see apps but not their logos.

When I select Update or Update All, nothing happens. Sometimes there will be a bar and it will sit at 0MB out of 729MB (or similar) but then I get a message that the request timed out.

All the apps that require updating are Apple - such as iMovie, Pages, etc. VERY frustrating - my wifi works but the Mac App store doesn't, even when I try with Hotspot connection. Running El Capitan 10.11 Beta and can't update to run anything else!

I have reinstalled El Capitan but the problem persists.

Not running a beta unless you need to is the best solution, IMHO.

Does it do the same if you create a new user on your Mac? Perhaps the issue is corrupted user preferences somewhere.

File bugs....wait for the next beta.

Slightly related, maybe removing the plist files could fix this? From http://www.howtoturnitoffandonagain.com/2016/01/08/how-to-fix-mac-app-store-not-showing-anything/

  1. Paste the following command into the window and hit Enter*: rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
  2. Repeat step 2 with the following command instead: rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist
  3. Repeat step 2 once again with the following command instead: rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/
