Mi configuration is iPhone 6sPlus, iOS 9.2.1: today safari abruptly started crashing when I touched the address bar. It's impossible to use it. Tried reboot, with no change at all.
Safari crashes as I touch the address bar
Happening to me too running iOS 9.1 I haven't updated iOS so can't attribute to that. I know the work around but it very annoying
I haven't even upgraded my iPhone 6 yet and I can't use safari! Can't even get it up long enough to do the temporary fix. Looks like its chrome for the win!
Turning off Safari Suggestions works!, Brilliant! Thanks for saving the day!
Ive had the same problem on Iphone 6 and the advice to Turn off the safari suggestions in settings>safari. Works :-)

Same here. Even though Sky News reports that Apple says it's fixed.
I have been having issues with Safari search engine all day. Just checked and problem still there despite Sky news saying Apple have fixed it. Is my computer at risk if this is a bug?
Apple are saying that the issue has now been resolved!! I don't think so, still can't do a search without having to use Google
El Cap functionality was a mess today, too. Links wouldn't operate or even highlight. Pages would half-render if at all. Around 5PM US EST I quit out and restarted Safari and things began to behave again.
Has Apple fixed it yet?
if not there are some easy solutions
