OS X El Capitan - Failed to install due to encryption

I received an error message when trying to install OS X El Capitan. It's stated that my Macintosh HD was encrypting data. Therefore I could not install it. Are there any solutions to this issue?

Thanks,

Ken

I think you have to wait until FileVault is finished encrypting your entire drive to upgrade the OS - even in public releases. Is FV still running?

Yes, I see now that FireVault is still attempting to encrypt the HD, it is paused for some reason. I am doing further investigating. Thank you for your assistance.

What is the solution to this. I am getting the same thing? How do you see the status of the encrypting data?
