I recently submitted an app and was rejected and presented with the following:
2.12 - Apps that are not very useful, unique, are simply web sites bundled as Apps, or do not provide any lasting entertainment value may be rejected
Our app was compiled using Adobe's Phonegap Builder into native code, as a consequence, the mobile in-browser appearance of our website is much like that of the app.
So, I was wondering if a "Please install our app" popup or notification with a redirect link to the app's page on the Apple Store be enough to qualify the app as having it's own purpose. Our goal is to provide a user experience that functions both in-browser and in-app and while I do understand that the app needs to be relatively different than the website and mobile version of the website, we do not want the users who do not wish to download the app to be restricted from accessing our website on their phones. If that is not enough, would removing the in-browser mobile version of our website and simply replacing it with a direct link to our app or a notification prompting users to download the app be enough to resolve the first issue?
