I'm trying to do a clean install using the 10.11 recovery partition. After selecting the install volume, the installer asks for the ID and password to verify on the Appstore, but gives me an error that the login OD or password are incorrect. I'm sure I'm entering the correct credentials. Has anyone else seen this?
Clean install - unable to sign in to appstore
I have the exact same problem
Had the same problem. Try logging in at Settings > iTunes & App Store first.
Thanks. Can you clarify, please? To be clear, I'm doing a clean install and this is encountered during OS X install, so there is no Settings to choose iTunes / App Store from.
Restart your computer and go into Internet Recovery Mode (Command + Option + R) as soon as it turns back on. You should be able to download an OS from there and then upgrade to El Capitan.
I tried this and the list shows that my mac will install osx lion. sigh.
Same problem but no error message. It just spins and spins and spins. I have the exact same problem with iBooks as well. Shows Apple ID, asks for password... enter and wait... and wait and wait and wait. I always have to "Force Quit" toi get out.
Odd thing is though, in iTunes even if I sign out on purpose THAT works fine. It's just APP STORE and IBOOKS that it looks up during signbin process.
I have the same problem with the app store and itunes. It just spins and spins. If I leave it for long enough it uses up over 100% cpu and turns on my compters cooling fans.
