Certificate errors on all secure sites

Getting an invalid certificate error on all secure sites. App Store and Mail also not connecting. Any others seeing this? Ideas?

Update: I had tried turning off the Mac firewall in preferences with no luck. Forgot about the Avast security software I was using, turned off their webshield and was able to reach all sites again. Seems like some third party security apps will need to be updated to be compatiable.

This can be fixed by:


- Open KeyChain Access

- Search "Verisign"

- Remove any certificates "VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5" under the keychain "login"


DO NOT remove the certificate by that name under the "System Roots"

Thanks smc, spend quite a bit of time trying to find this one. Removing the mentioned certifcates unter 'login' keychain helped. I'm wondering how they got there in the 1st place.. and why they are out of date and need to be removed.
