Testing with MS Exchange

I have tried to add my exchange account, and the "working" icon spins without letting me get past the initial setup in internet accouts.

I had experienced problems previously and there appeared to be some sort of handshake exchange (pun) error between Mac and Exchange. Spent probably 10 hours on tech support with Microsoft and Apple. Finally got a senior tech from Apple who suggested inputting the incorrect password during the setup process of adding the Exchange acct. Once that fails, the prompt will allow you to "manually" create the account. Manual mode will allow the account to be saved with incorrect information. Once the account had been saved, going back in and updating the password to the correct password worked great for me and I've never had a problem since.

I use a few Exchange accounts with Apple Mail - its been a bumpy road over the last few releases in my experience. I don't know what the Mail team do but in some releases it works great and then it just stops working properly with Exchange accounts (read/unread not working properly, mail not automatically syncing, mail content not always appearing etc).

So far in El Capitan I've been able to add one account - Mail seems fine with that but Calendar doesn't show the associated calendar even though I've made it active. Then when I add a second Exchange mailbox, Mail just crashes immediately and continues to do so until I remove the second account.

So far I've found that Autodiscover works better -- it actually resolves correctly for our unusual setup, and correctly prompts the user for a new/different username if provided email address / password failed.

Mail correctly detects if the network is removed, and goes offline. This fixes a major Yosemite bug.

The system Contacts appears to be incomplete, and doesn't do anything yet with the Exchange account or GAL. Neither Mail, Calendar nor Contacts can resolve lookups from Exchange.

I'm having problems with Contacts as well. It just doesn't sync. Everything else seems fine so far with exchange.

My calendar, when creating a new account on the mac, won't sync with exchange (office365).

Same for my corporation Exchange account. The Exchange account even not appears in the Calendar app.

I inadevrtently started a new thread on this: Exchange integration in El Cap seems completely broken - much worse than in the beta's for Yosemite. I am actually reverting because of it.

Mail: Won't show all messages, only new ones

Calendar: Exchange Calendar never shows up

Contacts: Contacts cant be added or edited, only viewed.

I still see not fix to this in Beta 3

What version of Exchange do you have? Install the latest Exchange 2013 service pack. I'm having all kinds of issues with Mac Mail, likely because I am connected to an Exchange server but it does work most of the time.

Or beta four 😟

This actually makes El Captain not-usable so far.

Exchange calendar not working is quite annoying.

And no official statements by Apple yet.
