Safari Cannot Establish Secure Connection

When using Safari on my iPad and on my Windows PC with a proxy connection based out of the UK, I am unable to load secure webpages. I receive the error:

"Safari Cannot Establish Secure Connection".

This is only happening in Safari and I am able to load the same page using Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.

Any ideas why this is happening and how can it be resolved?

Thanks in advance!

I have a similar problem with that and a new one with el Capitan 10.11.4. The problem you mention I've had since 10.11.3 using my smartcard on a macpro tower and on a macbook pro laptop.

The new problem with 10.11.4 is that now Keychain Access (or pcsctest) cannot see the card after its been properly inserted (and System Report says it can see the USB reader). Keychain Access doesn't see it, pcsctest hangs at SCardGetStatusChange.

Anyone with a clue to either of these would be appreciated.

I just migrated my website to a new hosting plan and set up a SSL certificate.

Periodically, I'm seeing "Safari Can't Open the Page" because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server. I was even logged into my CMS dashboard, editing something, and simply hit the "sign out" button and was greeted with this error. The problem is intermittent. It loads the page sometimes, sometimes it gives the error.

On my iPhone, page is loading in Safari without an error. I'm now on my Mac..set my iPhone as a Personal Hotspot, and go to my site. But I am greeted with the same error. In Google chrome, it loaded. Now I just wiped my dns cache...reloaded the page in Safari and it is showing up in Safari. Heh.

Just got the error again (briefly)...refreshed the page and now my site is back.

I hope this is a DNS issue and not some bug in Safari. We pay for an SSL certifiate we should be able to have our pages load up in Safari. Since Apple is really pushing SSL now, I wonder if they have considered providing "trusted" SSL certificates for members of the Developer Program.

and...it happened again.

After refreshing the page like 8 times, I'm back. I'm still logged in to the dashboard of my CMS when I return. I have a hard time understanding how the connection can be secure sometimes but not others. This secure connection thing, seems to only be on Safari on Mac. Chrome hasn't given me anything like this. Just using the standard SSL configurations my web host provides..

I really don't wish to be penalized for using SSL

@MachoMan ~ I am seeing the exact same issue, did you ever get it resolved, if so how?

This still is an irregular recurrant issue.... Only conclusion possible: Safari does have bugs...

Better to use alternative browser like Chrome, Mozilla or Microsoft Edge...
