Magic Trackpad

Did an upgrade to El Cap on a spare iMac machine. Everything upgraded smoothly but the Magic Trackpad constantly freezes for a couple of seconds, the trackpad disconnects itself then immediately re-connects itself. This doesn't happen with the wireless keyboard, just the trackpad.

1. Anyone seeing similar behavour?

2. Anyone any clues what might be going on and any workarounds.

I did try the basic: removing the trackpad and re-pairing it, but didn't solve the disconnect / re-connect pattern.

Just to add some info: did a NVRAM and SMC reset and it seems to have helped, no re-connections yet. Fingers crossed!

In my Mac MagicMouse is not working ,I am able to move my cursur but not able to perform touch action via the trackpad on it. Really have no idea, it that missing some driver?

Just interesting why Apple didn't realize this such big issue...

I've been seeing the same thing, but not all the time. Frustrating. Turned wifi off this morning and it went away, so I'm guessing mine is related to 2.4GHz interference. However, it didn't happen before the EC beta.

is the battery good or about to die ?

I had this using nimh batteries they get so fast under the acceptable limit that the trackpad disconnects and reconnects a few times before the battery is not powerfull enough and i don't get low battery messages from the mac…
