CardDAV doesn't work anymore

Hey there,

I've upgraded from Yosemite to the Developer Preview 1. I'm synchronizing my contacts via CardDAV on an owncloud server.

Since the upgrade it won't connect anymore. I tried to readd the account, but the system claims that the username and the password could not be validated (very clear error message!).

Has anyone else this problem?

same here, tried readding aswell and a bunch of variations of possible principal's urls.

can't even see attempts to connect to the entered carddav-urls from the capitan in the server logs – seems broken.

I actually get crashes when opening the preferences pane

filed radar://21300724

crashes here too.

anyways, I figured out a work arround for the carddav problem and owncloud:

When adding the owncloud account in System Preferences -> Internet Accounts -> CardDAV

Use "Manual" instead of "Advanced" and enter the full path to the principal (as shown in owncloud usually something like EXAMPLE.COM/owncloud/remote.php/carddav/principal/USERNAME/) into the server-address field. This made it work – for me at least.

After a clean install of 10.11 - I cannot connect to my carddav server on OS X Server 5.0beta1 anymore. Computers that are still using an upgraded version from 10.10 to 10.11 won't have the issue.

If I try to set everything up through Contacts -> Preferences -> Accounts, the preferences pane and Contacts will crash immediately.

If I try to set it up as server account through System Preferences -> Internet Accounts, CalDav and CardDav won't even try to connect.

If I set it up as CalDAV account through System Preferences -> Internet Accounts, Calendar is working correctly.

If I set it up as CardDAV account through System Preferences -> Internet Accounts, CardDAV is still not connecting.

I suppose, the automatic port configuration might be the issue.

How can I set it up correctly and manually?

username - ok

password - ok

server address - ok

path - what is os x server's default path for carddav - /principals/ will result in not connecting at all

port - I suppose it's 443

still valid for beta2

still valid for DevPrev3 - not working on clean installs but no more problems on upgraded systems

connecting to OS X Server 5.0 beta 3

"Extended" setup did not even contact my server, too.

"Manual" setup with complete URL including principals in server field worked here.

New objects and changes on the Carddav-Server are synced to contacts.

New objects and changes on contacts are not synced to the Carddav-Server.
