iPad keeps rebooting when syncing apps

I have just installed iOS9 on my iPad 3 and restored from my last backup. All fine so far, but now iTunes tries to sync back my apps and my iPad just keeps rebooting. All my apps are dimmed with the text "waiting..." underneath and nothing gets installed. Anyone seen the same issue?

"Same thing" happened to me on my iPhone 6.

Its not really rebooting, but the Sprngboard (the gui of the phone) seems to be crashing or restarting all the time while syncing the apps.

For me it ended when the syncronisation was done.

I had this exact same problem, and assumed it was a bug that would be permanent. Good to know it passes.

You are right - it is not rebooting, but I get the Apple-logo. For me it seems it is not doing any progress, but I will just have it running for some more hours to see.

I also notice that though I have many dimmed apps on my iPad now there are still plenty of apps that are not even visible. I can see them while looking at my iPad apps in iTunes, but not (yet) on my iPad.

Ok - patience now.... 🙂

By the way - did it say Waiting for changes to be applied in iTunes during this process or did you actually see any Copying <app>... message? Mine only says Waiting... I am on step 5 of 5 of the sync process.

Mine also did the same thing - but it stopped once it got to the "Copying XX of YYY: AppName" part of the sync. It only happened while it was "Waiting for changes to be applied".
