Mousewheel no longer working

Upgraded to 10.11 this morning. At first my Logitech MX Master had a perfectly working mousewheel.

Now it just stopped working. I tried the following things:

  • Reinserting the unified adapter thingy
  • Restarting my PC
  • Removing the Logitech control panel software
  • Connecting to the same laptop using bluetooth

Scrolling using the two-finger gesture does work.

Had the same problem with the new Logitech Anywhere MX2. Went back to my old Anywhere MX mouse for now, but I can't assign buttons on it anymore under 10.11 either.

Same problem with Apple Magic Mouse, all touch gesture doesn't work. Really have no idea about it.

Same problem with Apple Magic mouse and apple trackpad. Using iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)

I unpluged my elgato dock with several hard drives attached. Then I unpluged the power from the computer, waited a bit and restarted the computer. As if by magic I now can scroll. I repluged my dock and I still can sroll.

I had the same problem.

I just unplugged all devices who were pugged in the USB ports of my iMac and scrolling fonction was back !

Now I have plugged back the devices, and it's still working. (But I've not checked if scrolling was still effective after reboot)

My logitech mouse stopped scrolling until I realized "natural scorlling" was turned back on in the Mouse preferences. It was just scrolling the wrong way.

So after reboot my scrolling problem was back.

After investigations it appears that it was caused by mmy SuperDrive who was plugged trough an USB extender from BELKIN.

It seems that El Capitan doesn't like that. So my Superdrive is now plugged directly in the mac, the extender is still plugged and all is working, even after a reboot.

I had a similar propblem. Was solved just by relocating the adapter to another USB not close in proximity to another.

(From the rear of the Mac Pro to my Apple keyboard)

Downloaded Logitech Options from their site, it will replace the Logitech preference Manager & works with all Logitech products. It's an update that they never told anyone about. After I installed & restarted my mouse was scrolling again without problem.

Gave up on Apple mouse long ago. my usb remote mouse uses us dongle and was in a 4 usb hub with three external hard rives. usual messy scroll failure and crazy ian movements. i tired disconnecting all the drive and hey presto. then moved the dongle to back of iMac away form the drives and reconnected them . All is Good
