Battery Use Worse

Prior to the update to watchOS 2, battery use was very consistent at about 4% an hour during the day. Put watch on at say 6AM and by 11 PM battery would be down to something close to 30%. That was with OS 1.01.

Since the upgrade to watchOS2, battery use has been running about 10% an hour, roughly double or so the rate. Put watch on at 6AM and now at 2:30 PM its down to 16%.

Anyone else seeing this level of change?

I seem to be using about 10% of the battery an hour. Only have to charge 2-3 times a day now.

First day the battery drain was terrible and went from 100% to zero in about 10. Today however it is much better and appears it will last the day.

My Apple Watch also got battery drains from 100% to 55% in 6 hours last night ..........I can do nothing to downgrade only can wait till the beta 2 comes out

I expected an increase of iPhone battery usage, but not at this level. 100% at 6:00 PM, 61% at 8:00 PM. There has been no physical interaction, on my part, with the two devices (iPhone 6 and Apple Watch) during this period. This is terrible, even for a Beta release. iOS 9 is "Alpha" at best!

I hope there is a point release in the very near future. I cannot build and compile that fast!

I also have this same issue. From what i can remember (only 2 weeks ago) i had this also on the day i got my watch, it looks like there are some background processes running wich could cause this.

I found some Threats on the web wich said u need to reset the Network settings on your iphone (did this) and setup your watch as a new one instead of putting back the backup. Most users report bettter battery at day 2. I will let u know how mine is reacting today!

I think maybe the WiFi is what cost the battery. When I was outside, I feel it takes more time when the battery drop the same percent than in in room with WiFi connection.

Holy God - battery life is terrible on this release. I'm glad I'm not the only one - it really ***** though. Oh well, they'll fix it soon enough I hope!

Did some testing today. It took me 12 hours to drain te battery with normal use, this is less then before the update but today is better then yesterday. For now its acceptable but it's certain someting apple does have to look at!

Yep, the battery life is terrible and the OS is laggy and buggy. Typical 1st beta. Hopefully #2 comes out quickly.

Hi, I solved battery drain problem by turning off Automatically send of diagnostics&usage report. Now battery use is very consistent at about 3-4% per hour.

I solved battery life problems by putting it into Power Reserve mode for about 5 minutes. Then rebooting back into the normal Watch mode. It's been consistent 3-5% per hour once again.

Same here I was using about 50% a day 6:30 - 11 PM today 5:00PM I tapped the screen it complained about 10% remaining and then rebooted. I probably only glanced at the watch a few times for the time today. I'm surprised to say I don't use the watch much at all. Even less now since I am not getting tap notifications as they appear broken in the beta.

Battery life is horrible for me. I would end the day of normal use at about 30 percent at 11pm...today I was at 30 percent at 2pm. Hopefully they can pinpoint this quickly.

Poor battery use and slow performance is normal for early betas which have not been optimized.

Also, as someone recommended, it is usually a good idea to do a clean install and not fool around with device restoration unless you are specifically testing that aspect of the beta release to avoid issues that can be introduced by bugs in the restoration process.

No Battery issues here i still get at least a full day with say 25% remaining after 16 hours
