Same Here ...

Same here

Same here. I had to change my iCloud pass because it expired but now I can do it on my Mac to update it It just crashed.

Anyone now if it's possible to delete an "Internet Account" via the terminal?

Go I removed both com.apple.mail and com.apple.internetaccount and restarted. I was able to change the password eventually.

I tried to remove the iCloud account without success, I try this method because, always display me a message of error: check the setting for iCloud. My password is fine, my email too, I really don't understand what's happened. All options in settings iCloud account appears disabled. Any idea?

I'm having the same issue, and the only oddity that I can seem to point out so far is with my account itself. I've had the account since the .Mac days, so it has a @mac.com, @me.com, and @icloud.com alias. I noticed in the Internet Accounts Preference Pane that I have multiple iCloud accounts listed which are aliases for eachother. This is certainly not how I had it set up in 10.9 before upgrading this system. The first iCloud account in the list shows my @me.com alias, and the other (which is overall 4th on the list) is my @mac.com address. When I click on the @mac.com address (which is marked as inactive) I get an immediate prompt saying:

This Mac can’t connect to iCloud because of a problem with “<account>@mac.com”. Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem.

From there it takes me back to the iCloud Preference Pane (which shows my @me.com alias) with a password prompt asking to sign into my Apple ID. I enter the password for my iCloud account (remember they're aliases so they use the same password) and it returns some red text saying "An unknown error occurred." If I type a junk password, it returns "Your username or password is incorrect."

Same situation here. Earlier today I got the "your password has expired" issue and changed it on my phone, updated on ipad. OSX is unable to start the icloud SysPref panel. I was able to get the new password accepted for other services (facetime, itunes, etc), but still no iCloud functionality.

Try why I said to do above.

It's something that happens in the upgrade from 10.10.

I had exactly the same issue, so decided to make a bootable USB and install a fresh 10.11.

I don't have the problem anymore, and to be honest, everything seems to work **** of a lot better 🙂

I had this issue and got it resolved after some pain. This is what I did

1. Open the iCloud pref pane and log out of iCloud. Various scary messages about deleting stuff

2. Reboot

3. Open the iCloud pref pane and log in. Nothing happens.

4. Reboot again

5. Open the iCloud pref pane and log in. Long period of gearwheel spinning. Log in succeeds.

7. Open Mail. Fin that iCloud Mail still not working

8. Open Internet Accounts pref pane. Got to iCloud accounts, Deselect Mail. Then reselect Mail. All now working

Hope this helps someone

Thanks. I would never have thought of doing this. My mail was not working at all, either fetch or send, for icloud mail. This fixed it.

I had a similar issue - in my case system preferences would hang on trying to access iCloud from its own pref pane or through the accounts pref pane. I solved it by deleting all files from the following folder:

/Users/<MY HOME FOLDER>/Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts

I was then able to get into the iCloud preference pane, where it asked me for my new password. After giving it, all was working again.

FWIW, I deleted the files while running OS X from another partition, but that was probably not essential.

[Edit]: Based on responses to this, it is necessary to reboot after deleting the files.

Deleting the files in

/Users/<MY HOME FOLDER>/Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts

like Max108 suggested worked great. Didn't have to do anything odd, just deleted, rebooted, was then able to open the iCloud System Preferences and enter my password. Thanks!

Confirmed, this resolved my issue as well. Just delete the folder and restart. In my case I had a ton of password prompts to deal with, but I could delete the extra account without issue. From there, I was able to log into my iCloud account and everything seems to be working as expected.
