So after updating my iPhone 6 and Apple Watch to their new respective betas, I had to restore my Apple Watch and start all over which I realize may be a bug. However now my watch will not let me reply to SMS messages and they don't show up in the Watch messages app. iMessages sync perfectly fine and I get SMS notifications, but no option to reply. If I try to send a new message as a SMS from the Watch, it crashes the device. This was also happening with the iOS 8.4 betas.

Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

I had this same problem on iOS 8.3 and iOS 9 to fix it you must un-pair your Apple Watch and then re-pair it you can restore from a backup it won't affect it. This fixed it both times for me. Best of luck!

yes i notice this also my Apple Watch. Unpair the devices didn't work for my device.

Does the unpairing and reparing of the apple watch work when both the iPhone and the apple watch have been updated or just when the iPhone has been updated? I just wanna update the iPhone without lossing the ability to use my apple watch with it, so if I unpair it, will my apple watch still work when I repair it having only updated the phone.
