iOS 9 Error 14

Have tried 5 or 6 times now it install the beta package for 1474 on two diffrent computers. Each time the install freezes after about 10% and itunes pops and error code 14. I have tried diffrent cables and ports with no luck so far. I have tried redownloading the package to insure it wasnt corrupted but still no luck. It restores to 8.3 from both computers without trouble. I am unsure what to do from here. Has anyone else come across this and resolved it? Any suggestions as to what to try next? Your help is appreciated.

Have you tried placing the device in DFU?

yes ends the same way. regardless of how I do it the progress bar always stops at about the 10% mark and itunes pops the same message. Starting to think the installation package is no good but maybe someone else can confirm it worked on a diffrent 1474 model

Maybe uninstall and reinstall apple device drivers?

Or Restart computer. Thats all i got.

Tried all that, I think i have figured it out. If im not mistaken this device being new isnt registered. I have corrected that and am trying the install again. Ill let you know. Thanks for all the suggestions.

No, still the same problem. Maybe it takes time to propagate so I will try again tomorrow and see.

Never underestimate a bad cable as the possible reason. For some reason, since the beginning of iPhone, you can have a cable that's "good enough" to get through charging and sometimes syncing, but fails when doing restores and more sensitive tasks. A few tips:

  • Make sure your device registered with the developer program's UDIDs.
  • Make sure iTunes is up to date.
  • Make sure your hosts file on your computer hasn't been modded.
  • Ensure there's no dust or debris in the bottom of your device that may be blocking a solid connection.
  • Try a different cable.
  • Try a different computer

And if all else fails, the apple store will usually try restoring it for you, even if it's OoW -- though if they also can't restore it, you may be looking at an Out of Warranty service repair.

If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you might not be able to update or restore.

To narrow down the issue, try different equipment:

If you still see the error message, check for hardware issues.

I am also experiencing the same problem, when I attempt the restore to iOS 9 I get to around 20% on the iphone screen then the error message pops. Tried restarting, different USB ports, redownloading the restore package.
