I installed version 9.0 ( 13A4254v ) The battery is just too fast. I checked the battery consumption and the Home Locked screen is having the highest consumption being the same brightness by 30% and the phone standyby consumes , and warm enough iPhone .
Battery overspending IOS9
i get the same thing did you report it as a bug
Extremely common for early betas to abuse the battery - seems the power management code is kept out for a few and then brought in w/later betas.
Same problem here!
I hope you quickly get off the correction was trying to return to IOS 8.4 was not very successful . I find it absurd even beta a battery last two hours . In internal testing idenficaram not it?
Hi all,
I have the same issue. I put my phone to Low power mode at night and in the morning the battery was 25% (from 97% left at night) and without doing anything at all. The highest consumsion was from Home Lock Screen which reached the 85%!!!!! Increadible!!!
I thing there is something very buggy and hungry in this release ...
Hi all,
I have the same problem when the Iphone for 6 hours discharged at 1%
Restart your iPhone and hold the home button, iTunes should itdentifie as your iPhone in DFU you can press alt and click the restore and select the 8.3 / 8.4 image.
Hope this helps (I have downgraded myself... with that battery usage it was unusable)
Hi all
By deactivating the mobile data seems to make the situation better. This cause also background tasks not to refresh.
It seems that there is a problem on this part.
Well, you probably missed the keynote. One new feature is a way better energy management. Thats great news since they bring the lessons learned from the watch over to iOS.
Ask your self as dev - is implementing a feature like this done with just typing code and run it once in the simulator? Nope, it needs fieldtesting.
Welcome to the beta.
As for our testequipment it seems to apply only to devices that are known to benefit the most from this feature. iPhones 6 as the only devices eating their battery. Thats cool, because deep discharge once in a while helps the battery to live longer.
// running gag
Glad you didn't install the beta on a device you use everyday, aren't you. 🙂
// jedes Jahr das gleiche 😀
Just for reference.... installed Beta 9 on Ipad air 2..... going for 2 days so far at 50%. (use in the evening for about 2 hours)
Installed Beta 9 on Iphone 5C for 4 days (NOT BEEN USING - but Notifications come to phone) it is at 50% after 4 days
Ipad Air 2 was UPGRADED from 8.4 (beta 3) the Iphone was complete restore as new phone.
I phone 6 plus I have BETA 4 (OS 8.4) on it (this is my main work phone) I get about 2-2 1/2 days on a charge.
I did notice after installing any new iOS, the battery does drop about 10-15% in the first hour..... but usually becomes stable.
Just a personal observation with my units.
I can say that I usually make it from 6:30 to 17:00 with ~40% remaining on a regular work day (with iOS 8.4). With iOS9 I can make it from 6:30 to 12:00 with ~40% remaining. Definitely filing a BR on this one, hopefully it gets fixed in next release. There's a similar problem in WatchOS 2 with battery draining. I used to make it all day with ~40% remaining when I got home from work, now I'm lucky to have ~10%.
Interesting. Thank you for that feedback.
My memeory might be wrong, but I belive to recall reading reports from devs during the iOS7 beta claiming that setting up as new device solved the issues.
Will try that for the misbehaving device.
I always setup as a new device whenever doing a restore to a new beta, in this case with my 6+ it made no difference, the battery performance was horrid. I have not changed any usage habbits, in fact I even used iOS9 less during the day and it killed the battery
Feedback for restoring as new device:
no change.
However when operating without wifi the battery spending drops an in airplane mode the device is stable. No battery loss.
Perhaps a hint toward high network activity, who knows. I am not really up to check network activity - this is a beta and there areother more interesting toppics (new frameworks) 🙂
hmpf, I keep t missing the tiny text in the display saying tje restore in s still in progress.
Stoped the restore in the iCloud settings amd all is fine...
the iPhone 6 works normal now. No heat, no battery loss.
