I'm getting this error when I try to upload my .ipa to iTunes using Application Loader.

ERROR : "Missing Image Asset. Your app is missing the Top Shelf Image asset 'Top Shelf Image' in 'Payload/XXXXX.app'."

I have also tried uploading the archive directly from Xcode Organizer, but I get this error:

iTunes Store operation failed.

This action could not be completed. Try again.

I have tried recreating my project from scratch, replacing all of the App Icon & Top Shelf Image assets including this complete folder. I also tried replacing these assets with Apple supplied assets. Nothing works.

Has anyone run into this issue and resolved it?

I figured out the issue. I had included all my images as assets, which resulted in an Assets.car file of about 35MB (this file is included inside the .ipa). Once I removed my images from the Assets.xcassets file and included them directly into the project, I was able to successfully upload to the iTunes store. Kind of a pain in the backside since the solution had nothing to do with the Top Shelf Image.

I also first tried creating a separate asset file, but that didn't work either.
