Cellular data connection unstable in beta

Is anyone else having an issue where the cellular data connection is unreliable? It will work briefly, but then attempted data connections will time out. I've had some success turning on wifi (the connection comes up and connections are restored) and disconnecting, but after a period of time (sometimes as little as 10 minutes) the cell data connection will again fail. I have also tried resetting the network settings, but that did not resolve the issue.


The only fix that works 100% of the time is a reboot, but again as with the wifi fix its only temporarily effective.

Are you using the Podcast app? Seems to be the root of the issue for me.

I am also having this issue with iOS 9 Beta 1 on a verified good SIM and good phone, A1533.


When the cellular data is not working for me the SMS and cellular phone calls function just fine.

Same problem and a reboot is the only consistent fix. If I wait long enough (30 minutes or so) the data connection sometimes corrects itself. To be honest it is rare I wait that long. Also on an iPhone 5S, A1533 like @clinternet. @Genesis: Not using the Podcast app

I find that the problem occurs when switching between wireless back to cellular data. I've Reset Network Settings, did not seem to help. Restored from clean iOS 9 install, seemed to help a little. Rebooting the phone is the only thing that consistently provides temporary relief.

Appears to happen to me when I unplug from a power source (home or in car). Also, at times, when moving from WiFi to LTE. Power-cycle works sometimes...Reset Network Settings sometimes...and sometimes it just comes back on its own. Tried trouble shooting but it has been hard to replicate. Always revolves around LTE it seems.

Here is hoping beta 2 fixes this issue! Post your results after testing this week.

We have 7,11,12 and 13 pro max and the 13 just won’t play ball with 4g. It reverts back to 3G constantly. 4g when seemingly available doesn’t allow use of any data, no safari, no app use….nada. After three replacement 13 pros in a month and 2 SIM cards a visit to the Apple Store and a long convo to Apple over the phone I have concluded that I was happier on my 8plus and regret the day I took the “upgrade”

network settings reset multiple times phone erased twice updates of iOS not fixed issue airplane mode on and off not fixing issue.

All the other iPhones in the household are on the same carrier network and the issue doesn’t exist.

never in my happy Apple life have I wanted to throw my phone into the ocean but I am coming close to that
