I am writing an app where businesses register their locations. Registering a business location (and viewing content) is free, but you're only able to update content by paying a monthly fee per location. Initially I was going to do this by using an "Auto Renewable Subscription". The problem with that is a business can have any number of locations, and I can find no option for purchasing a subscription multiple times. The second option would be to handle all of the purchasing outside the app (from my website). This would allow a business to register their locations, and see content from within the app. If they then paid (from the website), they would be allowed to update content inside the app. Would this method violate the App Store guidelines around purchasing, specifically "11.1 Apps that unlock or enable additional features or functionality with mechanisms other than the App Store will be rejected"? So as a recap, my questions are:
1) Would an Auto Renewal Subscription be allowed in this scenario? I have seen some comments around it needing to be a magazine or book.
2) If allowed, is there any way to purchase a subscription multiple times. If not how would you recommend going about this?
3) If using IAP isn't an option, would enabling the ability to update content only after paying violate the guideline I referenced above.
Hope that I covered this in enough detail for you to understand. I'm really hoping for some insight into how I can overcome this obstacle.
