How to create Privacy Policy

HI,

I have an endless runner type of 2d platformer game for kids (4+), with standard leaderboard included to show players' max scores, that's all - and now I can't submit it to app review because I need to have a privacy policy.. How do I create one? Is there a standard pdf or a website to create it? Any assistance will be much appreciated!

You can post your privacy policy on the app or, better, reference a website with your privacy policy. (You can create a website through Google Sites for free.) In the metadata for your app there is a place to insert your website for the privacy policy.

Here is an example of a privacy policy:

XYZ Software does not collect any personal information from any of your use of our Apps. If we have any of your personal information we will not willingly sell or give it to anyone, except if lawfully subpoenaed to produce it and then only after offering you a reasonable chance to challenge such subpoena if allowed by law.

And a kids app has to have a 'parental gate' in it before a user can get out of the app (e.g. to facebook)

Thanks a lot PBK! Yes, I think I will create a simple website with the link to PP in a text format or pdf.

Thanks a lot, PKB, but... Have I to notify something (a file, some source code of my app, ...) in the LOPD data protection agency website before redacting and posting it in my website?, Or only have I to post it and referencing the addres of my post in "Privacy policy address" field in the submision form?. (and then, Apple notifies the files for me (the leaderboards, the connected users in a tournament...)...)

I mean to say, If I have to do anything in the LOPD data protection agency for making my "privacy policy", or only I have to post a similar text like the PBK's example in a page of a web site, and reference the address of that page in the metadata of my app, and in the "Privacy policy address" field of the submission app form?

In iTunes Connect when you submit an app you are required to submit a URL that posts your privacy policy. The privacy policy quoted above, if accurate in your case, satisfies Apple's requirement.

Throughout the world there are many other requirements for data collection depending on all sorts of variables - how sensitive is the data, what are you doing with the data, why must the person provide the data, etc.. In Spain there is a law called the "LOPD" to which you refer without any reference. This law has been the subject of scams in which service providers offer services for a fee claiming the user needs to purchase the service to be compliant with LOPD. Perhaps you are familiar with such scams and have been on one end or the other; perhaps not. I have no idea what you need to do to be compliant with LOPD or with any of the other privacy policies out there. Good luck!

Thanks a lot!, 🙂

Surely, I'm going to decide posting a similar text as you exampled (quoted...) in my web where I present and advertise my app.

Perhaps, if I pass my code app in other OS's (like Android...) in where I have to manage my proper personal information files, I will have to notify these in the LOPD... But... In my present case, I will surely simply do the first!...

Thanks again!
