I have registered the app under my Apple Id and have also associated this with my xcode project. is there a way for me to change my name from displaying next to the app that i publish on the app store ? i.e if name is Mark Smith..Can I have David Jones displayed as the developer of the app instead ?

No. Individual developer accounts only display your name. Only company accounts can

display a company name.
