It's because it's beta, or do I have to do something to make it work properly?
Safari 8.1 pinned tabs icons are not loaded
I have the same problem, how do I get to act pinned tabs iconit does not appear in Safari? What's wrong?
Having the same issue. Pinterest worked once, but doesn't seem to anymore. I've added the markup to my own site without success. Seems El Capitan Safari is definitely still buggy where pin icons are concerned.
I'm seeing the same thing. It seems inconsistent for me, it's working on one site: http://www.digitalphotogallery.com but another site using the same code and icon isn't loading: http://blog.digitalphotogallery.com
Even under Safari 9.0, under El Cap, it seems pretty flaky. Twitter's icon shows up, but GitHub's doesn't (and GitHub definitely has the valid markup for it in ther site's HTML).
Does the pinned bar show the favicon or something else?
FYI the pin icon markup has been changed. Per https://developer.apple.com/library/prerelease/mac/releasenotes/General/WhatsNewInSafari/Articles/Safari_9.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40014305-CH9-SW20 it is now: <link rel="mask-icon" href="website_icon.svg" color="red">
