Onedrive will not launch

I installed macOS Sierra (10.12 16A201w) on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015). Since installation, the Microsoft OneDrive sync process will not start.

Tried rebooting, reinstalling OneDrive, and deleting Library containers and re-reinstalling OneDrive.

The AppStore shows that an update is available, but when I click, it just spins.

Anyone else having this issue?

I have the same issue. Uninstalled and reinstalled. If you add a personal email the OneDrive Personal part will work but when you add a work email for the Business side it won't launch. I'm running on a Mac mini (Late 2012).

I concur. OneDrive works for Personal accounts, but crashes if it is linked to a Business account.

If you have a pre-existing OneDrive for Business accont set up, the only way to get back into OneDrive is to delete the app and reinstall.

I tried the following after uninstalling and re-installing from the app store:

  • If I try to use a OneDrive for Business account during setup, it immediately crashes with no error message or notification (the app just disappears).
  • Setting up a OneDrive Personal account works as usual. I was able to set up and sync with no issues.
  • After installing the personal account, I tried to "Add a Business Account" from the preferences. The dialog just disappears with no error message.

Thanks for the insight, wlyopp.

I have a personal account that wouldn't login even with the correct password after the upgrade.

Had to open Keychain Access and delete the OneDrive Cached Credential application password stored before it would work.

I have the same problem in the error log Service abnormal exited with code 1

I have the same issue with beta 2 also. I'm now using onedrive for my personal account, and using Beckfish for my onedrive for business account. Beckfish works perfectly. It will be my stopgap until MS or Apple resolve the issue with onedrive for business.

I have onedrive just crashing when starting it up with no error messages

  • I deinstalled - no luck
  • I removed all settings in cache/preferences - no luck

Anybody with a workaround?

  • How do you uninstall ondrive?

Im having similar issues and have removed and reinstalled OneDrive multiple times, removed cache files and reset the keychain even. Has anyone found a solution?

When I execute the exicutible within the app package, I get the following:

Problem was solved for my one drive for buisness account in Beta 5

Same here! One Drive for Business finally works. 🙂

Since 3 months onedrive one lanch on my mac with 31.2.1

just says "onedrive cant start There's a problem with the application files"

Trying to install the latest version from MS from the pkg file just gives "cant install" error.

Very frustrating that there are no solutions for this.
