FYI - I have posted a BUG in the Bug Reporter --- I have validated this multiple times.
While utilizing VZW WiFi Calling - and pressing the MUTE button in the PHONE app - the phone will not mute. People can still hear me on the phone even though the MUTE button is pressed and highlighted.

Yep, the mute button is visually working but leaves your mic open. Just discovered this on a confernce call. Could have been very very embarrassing.
The display on the Mac for mute and non-mute is wonderful as it shows the waveform for audio in real-time when unmuted, and shows the line flat when muted. This would be huge for the iPad And iPhone if they could do something like that.
If people can't trust the mute, they can't use the telephony services of iOS.
Can verify the same is also true with ATT Wifi calling. It goes back to working as expected when WiFi Calling is turned off though which is good!
Also confirmed this on T-Mobile wifi calling. Embarrissing conference call.....
Same issue with ATT, little embarrassing talking to your toddler about using the bathroom with everyone listening
