We have enterprise app running on 1000s of users and our provisioning profile is about to expire. Although our enterprise account will not expire for more 6 months.
1. In this case, what should be our next steps so that we would not have to build apps again and distribute them?
2. Will our apps stop working as soon as this certificate expires?

See "Managing Expiring Certificates and Provisioning Profiles" here for instructions on renewing the distribution provisioning profile. If you are using an MDM system, I think at least some of them can simply push the renewed profile. If you are installing from your own web server without MDM, I think you have to rebuild the app with the new profile and install the updated app on the devices.
