Good day
We have our own server that hosts a https page that requires digest authentication. We would log into the server using safari then click on a link that sends the plist file to the iPhone. On iOS 9.x.x it would then prompt to enter the digest auth. info again, a prompt requesting to install application pops up, and then for the third time again the digest information is requested from the user. Not sure why it asks twice at the end, but I think it has to do with passing the install request to different applications. From the server side we can see that itunesstore tries to log into the server and after the user supplies the auth. details it succeeds.
On iOS 10 beta 4 (the latest one), the install fails with message "Unable to Download App - "x" could not be downloaded at this time". The use gets prompted for the digest info when visiting safari, and the once again when downloading the plist file (again we can see from the server that this is itunesstore that logs in). A popup prompts for install, but it never starts to download the binary data. From the server side we can see that a new daemon is now requesting the download but it never seems to prompt the user for authentication details. The new daemon's name is appstore-d. On the device we get
Anyone have the same setup that seems to work? Is there something in the plist file we need to change? Anyone from Apple that knows anything about the appstore-d? When searching for appstore-d I only find French pages...
