Whichever device I connect (iPad air 2, iPhone 6, iPad mini 2 all running ios 9 beta 1 and using a mixture of docks and straight USB cables) iTunes does not see the conenction unless I unplug and immedialty reconnect. First noticed thsi when iPhone battery was still in red after sitting in a dock over night. Now make sure I hear the 'ping' to acknowledge itunes has seen the devcie.
iTunes not recognising device connection

It's probably an expected behaviour and a known bug.
Release notes:
iTunes
Known Issues
• Local Contacts & Calendars may not sync via iTunes.
• Some iPod models may not be visible in iTunes or Finder when connected. -> might affect some iPads and iPhones as well
• Devices running iOS 9 Beta may not connect to iTunes on OS X v10.11 Developer Beta 1. To resolve install Xcode 7 beta.
My iPod Classic is not recognized in iTunes. I've reported it in bug reporter. But note that there is a hugely viewed related thread over at Discussions that reports the same problem with the Yosemite dev previews, which I believe eventually got resolved (10.10.2?). How does Apple keep reintroducting this same bug?
