iPad Charging Problem

I have a slight problem for whenever I plug my iPad into my MacBook. The charging indicator starts to flash constantly between charging and not charging. My iPad is on iOS 10 beta by the way and my iPad charges with the normal charging brick into the wall no problem. Any help appreciated.

I would try cleaning the contacts on the cable.

It would also be worth trying a different cable.

It might also be worth trying a different usb port if possible.
