Calendar Does Not Sync iOS 9/WatchOS 2

Hello Apple & community,

I've updated both my phone and then my watch to the latest betas. I haven' seen any useful help out there regarding this, so I'll post the question here now.

My Calendar is NOT syncing at all with the Apple Watch after the 'upgrade'. I've reset both phone and watch and have also un-paired and repaired the watch to no avail. Please respond with this as a potentially known bug or a solution to get this working. I've also noticed that the "Reset Sync Data" (Apple Watch App >>> General >>> Reset >>> Reset Sync Data" actually does nothing on iOS 9.

Please adivse!

Thanks.

I'm having the same issue. If I create a new calendar entry on my phone it syncs to the Watch but existing entries don't.

I had the same problem and tried two things:

1) I made sure all of my items were synched with icloud and then turned off synching on my phone, deleted the calendar from my phone, re-enabled synching and let everything repopulate on my phone.

2) Performed the "Reset Sync Data" on my Apple Watch App on my phone

Within a few minutes everything had synched back to my phone and is now showing up on my watch.

I hope this helps, as I'm not sure exactly which activity solved my problem.

Good Luck!

I had to do the same - once I did the Reset Sync Data both my Calendar and Contacts have updated and stayed updated.

Unforunately, with iOS 9 Beta 4, pressing "Reset Sync Data" yields no response. The button does nothing.

Same for me - frustrating

I'm seeing the same problem with Beta 5. Reset Sync Data option in the app does absolutely nothing at all. Tried unpairing the watch and setting it up as both a new watch and restoring from backup and no difference.

I submitted bug report 22240896.

Installed both of the GM candidates last night on my iPhone 6 and my Watch, and I still have this last nagging issue. I have both iCloud calendars as well as Google calendars on my Mac and my iPhone with no issues. I have tried the suggested process, but my Watch is still showing zero events.

Re-pairing my watch to my phone worked for me for now.

I'm having the same issue. I reported it to apple customer support but they were not helpful, just wasted my time and now I'm having issues synching my music. I tried unpairing and repairing. I also am not able to reset sync data.

Can you explain this more? What do you mean that you deleted the calendar from your phone?

Same problem here. It's not perfect, but I found a workaround.

Go to your Google Calendar from a desktop web browser. In the left-hand column, find the calendar you want to see on your Apple Watch. Choose "Calendar Settings" using the drop-down menu for that calendar. One of the settings options will be "private address." Click "iCal" and it will provide you a private link to your calendar that you can share. Copy that link and paste it into an email to yourself. Open that email on your iPhone and click the link. It will ask you if you want to subscribe to that calendar. Say "yes" and you will have shared your Google calendar with yourself. Then go to the Watch app on your iPhone. Choose General/Reset/Reset Sync Data. Pressing that won't give any feedback that you've actually done anything, but it's working. It wipes all the contacts and calendar data from your phone and resends that data. You should now see your Google Calendar on your Watch. It worked for me. Basically, the Watch seems unable to directly access a Google calendar, but if you share the calendar with your iphone, the Watch can see that stream.

This is extremely frustrating... I'm on the road and this is my business phone lifeline to conf calls.

My calendar and email is Google for work. I find that if I open the email and accept on my phone, it will add the event to my calendar. However, when it's an event I created, I can't do that. I have my settings for Google automatically adding an invite to my calendar whether I actively accept or not, so this workaround does work to keep phone and calendar somewhat in sync. If there's a change to the call in number or meeting room I won't get that.

If I create a new event on my phone it won't carry back to web. And if I create a new event on the web it won't appear on my phone.

This is embarrassing for Apple - All the fighting to get iPhone's approved as a company phone instead of Android has taken a huge step backwards!

This sounds like a problem with the Google software.

Have you tried contacting Google for support?

I'm having the same problem. Upgraded the iphone6 to IOS9, then did the upgrade to 9.0.1. watchOS1.x was still in place and everything worked fine. Updated to watchOS2, and immediately lost all calendar events on the watch, though there appears to be no problem on the iphone.

I have calendar feeds from iCloud, Exchange ActiveSync, and Gmail. All had been working until the watchOS2 upgrade event.

I have unpaired and reinstalled the watch. no change.

I have reset watch to scratch, and restored the previous backup to the iphone. no change.

I have turned off all the calendars I have. then turned them back on one at a time, 15 min delays between turnons - still no change.

I do get notifications, including alerts from the calendars (both exchange and gmail) but nothing shows up in the calendar list on the watch itself.

---------------

I did try the iCal suggestion above, it does feed the entries from goolge through. My exchange calendar feed is still not coming through.
