Updating to final version

Hello All,

I am new to the Developer Community. Excited to be here! I have a quick question.

When updating a device to a pre-release version (i.e. iOS 8.4), when the final verison is released am I able to upgrade my device as normal, or is the process different?

Thanks.

Often the final GM (Golden Master) is the same build that is released and so no update is needed, from there your device gets treated as any non-dev registered device. Some people prefer to restore and install the released version to make sure there are no gaps from the OTA updates from the beta versions.

As per https://developer.apple.com/support/pre-release-software/ :

"... devices and systems running pre-release software can be upgraded to future pre-release versions and final software releases."

Final version release dates vary based on... and I say this with the utmost respect lol... When Apple is good and ready LOL. THey will announce a hard release date at some time and we all find out at the same time. The beta goes through a few different iterations but even the amount of betas has no set number.
