Big Sur too little disk space

I would like to install Big Sur on my development machine. But I get the message that I need at least 30 GB of free disk space. But there are 50 GB free. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes same issue. i have 32 GB free and it is asking 18 Gb more so 50Gb

I had the same issue. I had to turn off time machine and delete old snapshots.
