I just updated my Mac book Pro to the beta MacOS Big Sur. I pulled up my kindle app and none of my books will pull up. I can't read a single thing the whole screen is blank. I unregistered my device and reregistered. I logged out and logged back in. I deleted the App and re dowloaded it. Nothing I did worked. Anyone else having this problem?
Beta Big Sur kindle problems.
same issue for me...
Same here. Moonlight Mahjong, same problem.
same, kindle shows no downloaded books and crashes
I am having the same issue with Big Sur Beta 11.0.
My Kindle App opens, but as soon as I click on a text, the Kindle Application crashes.
I have done all the Disk Utilities cleaning, delete and reinstall the Application, restart the computer, etc. etc....
This is a MAJOR problem! Apple, please fix ASAP!

Similar issue here. Kindle extremely slow and choppy since updating iMac to BIG SUR 11.0.1. I need Kindle reference books to do my job so this issue has to be fixed asap. HELP!
I have the same problem. How can I solve it? please!!!

Same problem, uninstall and reinstall does nothing. It still crashes upon opening.
Today, Dec 6th I downloaded the Kindle onto my 2019 MacBook Air and I am having the very same issue.
I just upgraded yesterday because I had to in order to use some of my work apps. Now my kindle app crashes every single time I try to read a book. I hope this gets fixed soon - books for a class I'm taking are on my kindle and I can't read them. Ugh.
I just upgraded my IMAC's OS to Big Sur and Kindle will open but then as soon as I try to read a book, it crashes. I deleted the Ap and reloaded it but that didn't work. Seems that Kindle needs to be coded to work with Big Sur but that hasn't happened yet. Alternatively, I can read the book on my Kindle so no harm. I am hopeful it will be resolved shortly as Kindle is a popular Ap that is used by many. Plus, with Amazon's resources it should happen quickly.
I have the same problem, but I'm very surprised Apple have not even responded in 4 months. I'm sure that amazon need to take some action on this too, but given that their app works fine on the last OS, it looks certain that the introduction of Big Sur is the problem, so I would have thought Apple would at least have some advice.
I'm running Big Sur on MacBook Pro Retina 2015, and I have the same problem where the app will open but is slow, and when you open a book it crashes.
There are threads on Reddit and other mac/apple forums on this issue... at what point does Apple take notice?

Same issue, has there been any update?
I'm having the same problem, neither Apple or Amazon has been able to fix it. I did manage one way to get it to work. you have to create another admin sign in for your computer. instead of you and a guest you need to create another "you". I used a different name so I could remember which was which. After creating and signing in. set up kindle and it worked. it sucks to have to switch users just to read though. Lost a bunch of books in the process. If it wasn't downloaded from amazon then it disappeared. I went to some of the publisher sights and was able to retrieve a couple of them.
I just tried to open my Kindle and the display is unreadable and frozen...Evidently this is not a one off seems like quite a few people are having this issue.
Big Tech too worried about how to censor free speech than to fix this crap! Amazon busy screwing over Parler. Put out crappy apps and make us live with it. They in charge now.
I have Big Sur on a MacBook Air. When I open Kindle, I can open a book but it crashes about 30 seconds later, no matter which book. Restarted computer, deleted and re-downloaded app. Same problem. Apple people, please help.
This has been going on for months since the initial release of Big Sur but zero response from anyone and now I have thousands of dollars of books I cannot access.
Yeah this has been going on for months now. I can't even access my books needed for uni, and cannot get an answer.
My wife is having the same issue. Apple says “not our problem “... really. Why did I buy her an expensive Mac laptop. She has 900 Kindle books.
BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP!
I NEVER install a beta or new OS upgrade without a complete backup. If you do not have one, buy a 2TB portable external and run a complete backup before you install. I learned that lesson 30 years ago and I only did that once. Lost everything.
Then, unmount the drive and stick in a drawer before you install. If it's necessary, then you can wipe the drive and start over with a clean install from your backup.

You need to uninstall the app and then delete select files in the library and elsewhere (then reinstall and it will work). This website page will walk you through it: goodereader.com/blog/kindle/what-to-do-if-the-kindle-app-for-mac-does-not-work-on-big-sur
This problem was making me bonkers (I need to read on the laptop for school). Good luck!

Same here. When I turned my Mac. on it told me to delete the Kindle app because it would damage my Mac. and was from an unknown developer. I tried opening a new Japanese cook book I got. It opened. As I was going through the pages, it crashed. Actually, it just went away. Then I got something telling me I could notify Apple.
It is odd.
I just upgraded. I was like two operating systems back. But before I did I got two external drives from WD. One 4 and the other 5 tb. I backed everything up. Which took hours. Then I installed the OS I had been using on the other drive. So I can just run the OS from that drive I guess.
