Thousands of Duplicate Birthday Calendars in iOS 10.1

I'm in the iOS Beta program, and I noticed after the last update that there were multiple birthday calendars listed in Calendar and Fantastical (my preferred calendar app). When I first noticed this problem, I had around 135 extra calendars listed under "Other" and around 8 under Facebook. Since then, the calendars under "Other" have increased exponentially; I now have well over 2000 Calendars in this section. The large and growing number of calendars means my phone slows to a crawl or freezes completely whenever I try to access the Settings on my phone.

I've tried disabling/re-enabling Calendars and Contacts on my iPhone, I've tried a hard reset, and I've even completely wiped my iPhone and reinstalled the apps from backup, but the problem persists. Luckily the problem doesn't seem to affect my iMac or MacBook Air, so it leads me to believe the problem has to do with the latest iOS beta and iCloud.

I really depend on my calendars to keep me on track, so not having access to them is a huge inconvenience. Is there any way to force delete these "other" birthday calendars on my device? I'm using iOS 10.1 on an iPhone 6 Plus.

I am having the same issue! The Calendars app is burning 50% of my battery each day alone in Background Activity. I have thousands of these Birthday calendars under Facebook and Other and am unable to remove them. Was on the phone with Apple support today for several hours and they told me the only way to clear is to Erase All Content and Settings. I don't want to do this because I'll lose all of my text conversations which contain years of Gold. My phone has become so slow now.

I hope someone figures out a fix to this. I am running iOS 10.1.1 on a iPhone 6s+.

I too experienced all the same symptoms as you. I followed the same steps. Called apple care and did backups, erase, restore, then extract softaware and do update. After three hours in the apple store, and after an apple technician ran diagnostics and told me that I needed a new phone because the calendar app was crashing frequently. After apple gave me a brand new phone and I restored from my backup, I continued to have the same exact problem as previously mentioned. This all began with the new update. Hope to find a solution soon!

I'm running 10.1.1 and i have the same problem. i changed my iphone from Iphine 6s Plus to Iphone 7 Plus but still suffering from the same problems in both iphones.

we need your help guys. and we need the Apple technical team to take this matter seriously.
