Why does my phone keep crashing on the new IOS update.

Ever since the IOS 14 update came out my phone had been crashing. I thought that maybe it was because I hadn’t updated my phone yet so I decided to update it. Once I updated to IOS 14.01 my phone just crashed even more. Any time I switch tabs my phone freezes even if there’s not that many tabs open. Even when I pull the tab down just to check my battery percentage or to turn my flashlight on, It crashes. It sometimes even crashed when I go into an app and it’ll crash back to back. It doesn’t make my phone restart or anything but it just send me back to my Home Screen.
