Bluetooth audio cuts in and out

I am having issues with the audio of music and video cutting in and out while using my Jaybird X2, I have tried all means of resetting all settings on the iPhone. I even went as far as setting the iPhone up a new. I have swapped out the Jaybird X2's for a new pair and still have the same issue. I tried using a pair of Beats and am seeing the same issue. The issue is also present on bluetooth speakers. The only time i dont see the issue is when I place the iPhone into airplane mode and turn Bluetooth back on, then and only then is the audio uninterupted. I am out of ideas as to what the issue could be other then there is a issue with the Bluetooth and GSM chipset

Ended up returning the GSM version of the phone for model A1661 and all issues are now fully resolved.

I have been having the same issues on my 7plus 256gb

Exact same issues for me. 128GB 7 Plus, Jaybird X2, and original Apple Watch. I even got Apple to replace the phone yesterday and the issue is persisting. Really annoying since I've been using Bluetooth audio devices for years without issue.

Same problem on my iPhone 7 Plus 128GB with Sennheiser MM550-X headphones. No difference between iOS 10 to iOS 10.1

What model number of iPhone are those that are seeing the issue using? My iPhone is the A1784(AT&T) version.


Is anyone with a CDMA(Verizon/Sprint) iPhone also having this same issue?

AT&T 7Plus running 10.1 (had issue before update)


issue is on my jeep uconnect bluetooth (iPhone 6+ and 6s+ had no issues)

GSM AT&T model here as well.

I have a Genius Bar appointment tomorrow 10/28/16 to look into the issue. If they are unable to resolve the issue I will be looking to return the iPhone and possibly get a sim-free version of the iPhone as it looks to be an issue with only the A1784(AT&T) model.

So after an appointment with the Genius Bar staff at my local Apple Store they swapped out my phone for a new one and so far no issues with Bluetooth whatsoever. Audio is clear and is no longer cutting in and out, pairs first attempt with the SYNC system in our Ford Transit. If anyone else is having this issue I'd suggest contacting Apple support online and have them try and resolve the issue and then set an appointment at the Apple Store. Good luck!!!

Looks like it was short lived... another Genius Bar appointment has been set.
