I am writing in concern to an app I would like to create, but would like clearance on the idea before I put the blood sweat and tears into the design and development of it.
App Description: I would like to create a real time sports tracking app for sports bettors. Users would input the spread of the game, and the app would calculate the spread in real time vs. the actual score of the game, and notify the user if they are likely to win the bet or not. Basically, we would like to create an app very similar to this app, BetBud: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lL0rEa48bI that no longer exists in the app store.
This app does not take any money for sports bets. This app simply tracks live games and notifies the user with push notifications throughout the game, and when a game has ended. Our initial idea is that it would be free to download, and track a certain amount of games for free, and that an upgrade, in-app purchase would be available for tracking an unlimited amount of games.
After reading through your guidelines it doesn’t seem like this is violating any terms Apple has in place. But I wanted to be 100% sure before I devoted my time to this.
Apple has replied to this message telling me "Please know we are not able to pre-approve proposed application ideas or concepts for developers without reviewing the app itself.” So please watch this YouTube video. Would this app get approved in the app store today?
