Regarding the expiring of Apple Push Notification Service Certificate.

Regarding the expiring of Apple Push Notification Service Certificate. We have no option to renew the APNS certificate on developer account. Only “Revoke" and “download”. When we clicked on revoke button that certificate is removed from the list.

My question

when we revoke/expired the existing certificate , is there any chance to affect the the push notification on existing App Store app.

After uploading new version with new certificates ,Is there any chance to work the push notification on previous version. ( suppose if the user not updating to new version)

The APNS certificate has nothing to do with app versions. It is used only for securing the communication between your server and the APNS server. Push notifications to old or new versions of the app will work if you are using a valid APNS certificate on your server to communicate with APNS. Push notifications to old or new versions of the app will not work if you have an expired APNS certificate on your server.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I am aware of this.

Though my question is What if I recreate Distribution certificate ? As I have to create it first then I can create APNS certificate, right ?
