iPhone Clock Widget freezes intermittently

The clock widget freezes intermittently and the clock hands do not move. The time displayed on the clock reflects the time when the clock froze.

The clock background is displayed always in black colour even though the dark mode is set to automatic. Ideally, the clock background should be displayed in white colour before sunset and then turn into black ground after sunset. But instead the clock is always displayed with black ground.
