As weird as it might sound, Safari and Spotlight started crashing on my Macbook yesterday, I tried every solution on the forums nothing worked, in the end I found some investigation on a forum that the error log is hinting to some iTunes Digital Audio Access Protocol (DAAP) file, I opened iTunes it was behaving odd, asked me for the password, I entered the same password three times, the first two it didn't give an error, didn't log in either, the third time it logged in and the flashing spotlight in the menu bar stopped instantly, checked Safari and that was fine as well.
