Environment:
Apple M1 Macbook Pro
MacOS Big Sur 11.2.3
MacOS Big Sur 11.3 Beta 3
Issue: After upgrading to MacOS Big Sur Beta 3 from MacOS Big Sur 11.2.3, the Recovery partition was upgraded (as expected) to Big Sur Beta. The recovery partition works as intended, however, I have since removed myself from Beta and reinstalled MacOS 11.2.3 via external USB after erasing the internal drive and even tried running the install again through MacOS 11.2.3 to see if it would correct the partition. -- It didn't.
The problem is the Recovery partition is still at the higher version and when launched through Recovery Options mode, it will reinstall MacOS Big Sur 11.3 Beta 3 if I proceed through the install (I tested this last night).
Question: Is there a way to downgrade the recovery partition back to *public* release/11.2.3 or a way to delete the recovery partition? (I'm willing to lose all data here, I have nothing important installed at this time).
The only possible option I found was to re-image via Apple Configurator 2 with another Apple machine. --This is not currently possible as I do not have another Apple machine so if there are steps to delete the Recovery partition I'm all for it.
Thanks!
