Unusually high number download

There was a 2K download from the desktop on 4/14.
Since the number of downloads is usually around 100, it is close to 100 times.

It's an unusual number even though it's only published for iOS.
Is it a bug in iTunes Conenct? Is it unauthorized access?

Similar occurrence happened over a year ago with massive spikes in downloads, then a few times recently. Would like more insight here as the downloads are not converting to any change in accounts created so something odd is happening.
